We bought tickets for our family to see Elf. The website said it was a family friendly production. It's only intermission now and there have been 3 instances of cursing, 4 times the Lord's name was taken in vain and a couple of inappropriate sexual jokes. If you are going to advertise a play as family friendly then it needs to actually be family friendly. Very disappointed.
I'm biased as my daughter works here, but after seeing her last play, it was amazing. The bit of throwing tomatoes was the best. Can't wait for the next time we are here visiting our kids to come back to Weathervane.
Very nice theater talented actors. We had a great time. Buddy The Elf was very good. Will be back for more.

Love this theatre. The quality of the performances, price and theatre venue are great. Love the children's theatre options too!
I can't really give an honest full review on this because we were there for a half hour children's theater workshop. Our granddaughter was in it. It was fun to watch and the people working with the kids all seemed really passionate about teaching the kids. I know in the summertime when they have full plays that it is a popular place and usually very crowded.
Great venue to see show. Both shows I've seen have been excellent with very, very talented actors. Really well run, 1st class theater company. Newark is fortunate to have weathervane.
Been going to the playhouse for years. Quality professional theatre in Newark Ohio. Great kids programming as well, kids can learn about theatre, stage craft and acting in their children’s theatre program. The main stage is always quality - and the shows will always entertain. They have added fall and winter shows since they enclosed the theatre. Oldest continuing summer stock in Ohio!
Great location. Friendly staff. Performances are top notch.
